Brucite
Okuhida-Onsengo-Nakao, Takayama city, Gifu pref., Japan
Field of view: 30 mm. Brucite associated with serpentinite. The group of micaceous pale green crystals is brucite. The massive dark green basement is the host serpentinite.
Recovered from serpentinite subjected to contact metamorphism by the I-type (Magnetite-series) granodiorite. Formed in the early Pleistocene (1.5 Ma).
Brucite from this location was described in 1991.
