Sedimentary facies: Marine
Lithofacies: Mudstone
Lithofacies (Minor): Sandstone, Tuff, Mudstone-dominant interbedded sandstone and mudstone

Thickness: 500 - 1,000 m or thicker
Lower limit: Bottom of the horizon which does not include sandstone beds of a few dozen cm thick
Lower limit: Conformity (Tomiyama Formation)
