Abundance: 0.16ppm(in the earth's crust)

Bake sphalerite and/or wurtzite with halite or evaporation residue of sea water.

Cd is inluded in zinc minerals with concentration of 0.3 to 0.5%.

Neutralize cadmium cholorite by base. Cadmium is never dissolved by base.
