Occurrence

Albite-Epidote-hornfels facies bedded Manganese deposit

Chert-hosted bedded manganese deposit in Permian - Jurassic chert block of Kurohone-Kiryu Complex, a member of Jurassic accretionary complex of Tamba-Mino-Ashio Belt. The deposit was subjected to Albite-Epidote-hornfels facies contact metamorphism by Ashikaga Body of Sori-type Granitic Rocks. Approximately 5 km apart from the Sori granodiorite, the heat source.

Daikei Mine

Remain of old manganese mine in bedded chert of Kurohone-Kiryu Complex. The outcrop is bedded chert.
